Pashmina are fibers are made from certain Himalayan goat species that live in Kashmir India. The goats produce wool that is soft and warm due to the Himalayan’s high altitude and cold temperatures. There are many different types of Pashmina. Goats raised above 4,000m have the best chance of producing long and silky hair.
The goats can produce unique cashmere wool fibers because of the cooler climate found in the mountains. The fibers are then hand-sorted and cleaned and transported from the Himalayans into the Kashmir valley. Our skilled artisans hand-spun the fibers and then hand-weave them very delicately, following ancient ancestral traditions.
Block printing is a method that uses a carved wood piece to imprint an image onto a fabric. Because of our ability to create complex designs that are rich in color and texture, this method is becoming increasingly popular. Our artisans can create any type of wood design and we are able to create patterns or designs to suit our clients’ needs. We can print on many fabrics and only use vegetable dyes in our products.
